How do I stop my dog's tags from jingling?
Tag silencers, pouches, and tape can muffle the sound, but they wear out and fall off. The permanent fix is removing the cause: a slide-on tag has no hanging parts, so there's nothing to jingle in the first place.
Do slide-on dog tags stay on the collar?
Yes — the collar itself holds the tag in place. Unlike ring tags, there's no clasp to snag on branches or fences and no ring to wear through and drop off. The tag only comes off when you unthread the collar.
What collar width do these silent tags fit?
Our slide-on tags come in three sizes, made for standard flat collars in 5/8″ (1.6 cm), 3/4″ (1.9 cm), and 1″ (2.5 cm) widths. Check your collar width before ordering — it's printed on most collar labels, or simply measure the strap — and pick the matching size.
Are silent tags better for anxious or noise-sensitive dogs?
Many owners switch for exactly this reason. Hanging tags clink right below a dog's ears with every step; a flat, noiseless tag removes that constant sound entirely.
Will the engraving wear off?
No. The text is laser-engraved into the stainless steel, so it can't rub off, fade in the sun, or wash away — the info stays legible for years.
What should I engrave on a silent dog tag?
At minimum: your dog's name and your phone number. If space allows, add a second phone number or your city. Each tag fits up to 4 LINES of engraving.
